A slim all-metal body in Polar Blue

The rounded all-metal body is just 7.5 mm thin (9.4 mm at the camera bump) and weighs around 425 g, light enough for a film on the sofa and slim enough for a college bag or office backpack. Polar Blue looks smart without being loud.

An IP52 rating adds limited protection against dust and dripping water. It is not waterproof, though, and liquid damage is not covered by warranty.

A 10.1-inch WUXGA display that is easy on the eyes

The 10.1-inch IPS panel runs at WUXGA (1920 x 1200), about 224 pixels per inch, so e-books, PDFs and Full HD video look sharp. The 16:10 shape suits films and documents alike, and 400 nits suits indoor use and shade rather than harsh direct sunlight.

For long study sessions, it holds TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification achieved in hardware, which Lenovo says helps reduce eye strain. The 60Hz refresh rate is smooth for reading and video, without the extra-fluid scrolling of premium high-refresh tablets.

Helio G85, 4GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage

The MediaTek Helio G85 combines two Cortex-A75 cores at up to 2.0GHz with six efficient Cortex-A55 cores, Mali-G52 MC2 graphics and 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. Streaming apps, video-call classes, email and office documents run comfortably, and casual games play well. Demanding 3D games need lower graphics settings, and it is happiest with a few apps open at once.

Alongside 64GB of internal storage sits a dedicated microSD slot for cards up to 1TB, ideal for downloaded lectures, offline films for a long train journey and the family photo archive.

Dolby Atmos speakers and practical cameras

Two side-mounted speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos give stereo sound for films, music and calls. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack and built-in FM radio, which uses wired headphones as its antenna and is handy during a power cut when the router is off.

The 5MP front camera handles video calls, online classes and face unlock. The 8MP autofocus rear camera records up to 1080p video and is genuinely useful for scanning notes, assignments and bills.

5100mAh battery and 15W USB-C charging

Lenovo rates the 5100mAh battery at up to 9.5 hours of YouTube streaming or 10.5 hours of browsing. These are manufacturer figures for a new device; real-world life depends on brightness, apps and, on any refurbished unit, normal battery wear. Charging is via USB-C at up to 15W with USB Power Delivery. No charger is included; Lenovo specifies a USB-C charger that supplies at least 10W, and up to 15W for the fastest charging.

Android updates, family features and Wi-Fi

The tablet launched with Android 14, and Lenovo has promised upgrades to Android 15 and 16 plus four years of security patches. That commitment belongs to the model and does not restart with a refurbished purchase.

Lenovo’s software includes Google Kids Space and YouTube Kids for supervised screen time, Entertainment Space and WPS Office. While charging, it can double as a digital photo frame or bedside clock.

This is the Wi-Fi-only model, with dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 for earbuds and keyboards, but no SIM slot or mobile data. On the move, use your phone’s hotspot.
